Leverage Failure Towards Outstanding Achievement

“Before success comes in any man’s life, he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do. More than five hundred of the most successful men this country has ever known told the author their greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them.”
            - Napoleon Hill

"Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. We do not fail overnight. Failure is the inevitable result of an accumulation of poor thinking and poor choices.”
            - Jim Rohn

"He does reasonably well at School sometimes...but...he does not complete anything. He has a very short attention span. Recently he has fallen backward in his scores...The school has warned that he may face difficulties in his 9th and 10th grades."

His parents had brought their son Arvind who was studying in the 8th grade.

His father continued, "The fact is,...they may ask him to leave the school when he comes to the 9th grade,...if...he does not show the expected improvement. Or...they may ask us to shift him to the State Board. But Arvind is actually very intelligent....We just can't understand why he is unable to score in his exams. We have put him to tuitions. He has been going for the past seven months but...to tell you the truth,...his performance has not improved. It...it has actually fallen more than before.

"It is not that he is lazy. He works hard. He works throughout the day...hardly has any other diversion. We have taken him off his Tennis practice. He does not even watch television or play much video games. He is quite studious. But..."

Arvind was no doubt an intelligent boy. And then, most children are. In most cases, it is a misjudgement that portrays a child to be lazy, irresponsible, and dull. In Arvind's case, the problem was not that he was not working enough. It simply was that he was working too much. His brain was responding negatively to the stress. His bloodstream was being filled with negative stress hormones like cortisol and norepinephrine. He had hardly any endorphins to counter them nor to lead to growth. He was a victim of the old, outdated belief that hard work is the key to success. Little did he or his parents know that study need not result in learning nor that learning need not depend on studies alone. It was at that stage that his parents woke up to the situation enrolled their son in the CFRCE Academic Achiever's program.

The CFRCE Academic Achiever's Mentoring program is a powerful performance-oriented program that takes a student at any given level and through successive stages of technical and personal development, catapults the student to high achievement. In several cases, a student is seen to be literally swept into success by the combined power of creative learning, conceptual mastery and goal setting. By unleashing the student's innate intelligence and spontaneous cognitive-affective self-organization the program fills the student with the joy of learning and the ease with which concepts and problems may be enjoyed and mastered. Tests and exams are then seen no more as the end of learning but as the means of learning and as steps towards assessing oneself and discovering new bodies of knowledge. By and by it dawns to the student that learning can be one of the most exhilarating experiences in life. At this stage, the student is prepared not just for the examinations but for life itself.

Arvind began to experience all this for himself. Day-by-day he felt himself more and more joyful and possessed with the sense of progress. Every day he had something new to add to his learning. Every day his self-confidence and self-esteem grew alongside the learning. As this went on something else was happening in him that is not what one normally associates with studies.  He was experiencing a deepening sense of peace of mind. The restlessness he had before was being replaced by a calm determination. He took on his final examinations with the same spirit.

At last the day dawned. Arvind found that he had secured grade A1 10.0 in both Mathematics and Science, A2 9.0 in Social Sciences and A2 9.0 in English. Never in his academic life would he ever have to look back. The Academic Achiever's Mentoring program had been his mainstay.

About the Program

Many a student aiming at high academic excellence asks, “What is the most effective method of study? Why is it that no matter how much I prepare, I sometimes perform poorly in the examinations? I enjoy extra-curricular activities very much. Moreover, they are very important for my later admission to foreign universities. How can I balance between that and academics? How do I prepare for subjects like Chemistry, Biology and History that seem so based on memorization? Is there a logical approach to these subjects also? How can I cope up with my increasing stress levels? How do I best manage my time?”

Students faced with such questions have continually been finding fulfilment in the CFRCE Academic Achiever's Mentoring program. At CFRCE, academic success is not considered as a matter of hard-work, effort or time but on the contrary, as a result of setting strategic goals and acquiring the necessary learning, skills and techniques. The CFRCE Academic Achievers Program is designed to do exactly this.

The CFRCE Academic Achievers Program is a credit based certificate program that empowers the student with a completely scientific approach to learning, positive stress-response and performance. Its methodology is based on cutting-edge findings in the fields of Cognitive Neuroscience and Positive Psychology and testified by achievements of students ranging from outstanding to extraordinary and world-class.
